Welcome from the Manager

It is with a deep sense of pride and joy, that we as team Wellington warmly extend our hands in welcoming all Zimbabweans from around New Zealand, to celebrate a sporting extravaganza, that is indeed true to our social and cultural ethos. Wellington is a truly cosmopolitan city and its ambience, second to none. I urge our community to open up their homes to the multitude of visitors that will descend on our city, share accommodation, food, drink and all the rich cultural heritage and languages in a truly Zimbabwean fashion. As we may all know, the main objectives of this Tournament and others before it, is basically to foster better relationship as a people, break the physical geographic barriers that separate many a Zimbabwean between the two Islands, to share our settling in experiences in New Zealand and provide a reason to holiday and indulge in the lovely splendour of various precincts of this country, hence the tournament's rotation policy. I therefore call upon our community to rally behind this vision and help promote our objectives. The teams will need all your support and I’m confident we can deliver a top class tournament. Thus I say let the games begin and be played in the spirit of friendship and fair play, after all we are all winners. Hope to see you all. Terry

IN THE BEGINNING

In the beginning we had the "skipas". Reminder that we have come a long a way. Mr Mbira was in charge, Mujuru could still run, makiwa featured in the line-up, Jedza looked after the books & Mr Foto was the technical adviser!
